EDUCATION:

Deirdre Haynes, Ed.S, LPC, LPCS has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from South Carolina State University, a Master’s Degree in Secondary Guidance, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration (Principalship), an Education Specialist Degree in K-12 School Counseling and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Administration (Superintendency) from the University of South Carolina. She is currently completing the final requirements to obtain her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialization in Trauma & Crisis.

LICENSURE: SC, NC, & VA

She is licensed by the State of South Carolina as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS). She is also licensed in the state of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC).

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

Deirdre Haynes, Ed.S, LPC, LPCS began her professional career as a Gifted and Talented English Teacher for middle and high school students. She moved into K-12 School Counseling four years later. In 2009, she became a National Board-Certified Teacher in School Counseling (i.e. Highest Teacher/Counselor Honor) for 10 years. She began her private practice, Deirdre Haynes Counseling Services, in 2013. Altogether, she has accumulated over 20 years of counseling experience in treating children and adults using individual, couples, and group therapy.

Deirdre Haynes is a certified Hypnotherapist and is EMDR-trained. She has previously been certified as a Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC) and a National Certified Counselor.

COUNSELING APPROACH:

Deirdre Haynes, Ed.S, LPC, LPCS practices standard Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Client-Centered Therapy, Solution Based Therapy, and Reality Therapy for most conditions. Other treatment approaches are also used depending on the person or condition.

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS:

Deirdre Haynes, Ed.S, LPC, LPCS has written several books and workbooks that are listed on the www.dhaynestherapy.com website and Amazon. Deirdre Haynes has also co-authored a chapter in a university textbook that focuses on Anxiety and the DSM-5.
